Stourbridge Running Club were out in force this week at small, local races and bigger events further afield. Chloe Pearson was 3rd Lady at the Rat race man vs lakes, completing the Marathon distance obstacle course in 5:20:00.

At the Ironman triathlon in Bolton, athletes completed a 2 mile swim, 112 bike and 26.2 mile run. Matt Cooper finished in 11:01:01, Mark Higgs in 12:21:31, Tim Bailey in 12:59:07 and James Bellamy in 14:09:20.

At the Droitwich midweek 10km Trevor Osborne was first for Stourbridge in 35:17, followed by Robert Taylor in 39:16, Chris Ashcroft 41:08, Adam Crompton 41:43, Pete Walters 42:27, Alastair McIntosh 44:01, Rob Moore 44:03, Mark Lawton 44:45, Kevin Burke 45:23, Joan Clarke 47:01, Dawn Nagle 48:45, Paul Bradley 49:42, Steve Moss 49:49, Phil Dunn 51:07, Jon Taylor 51:09, Helen Bellamy 51:58, James Bellamy 51:59, Phil Elwell 52:56, Andy Bernasconi 55:54 and Lynda Dunn 56:43.

Stourbridge Runners stayed local this weekend with runners at the Birmingham and Black Country half marathon and the Black Country 10k.
On Saturday runners took on the half marathon between Wolverhampton - Birmingham, 13 miles on the Old Mainline Canal which includes the 360 yards Coseley tunnel. To ease congestion on the narrow paths runners set off in small groups meaning runners were against the clock rather than the runner in front.
Dave Sheppard posted the fastest time for Stourbridge in 1:54:16, followed closely by Helen Evans in 1:55:41, Jayne Gardner 1:56:15, Phil Dunn in 1:58:39, Andy Bernasconi in 2:08:50 and Ian Bytheway in 2:10:13.
On Sunday, runners took on the two-lap road race around Halesowen. Chris Ashcroft was first Stourbridge runner in 41:57, Kieran Burke was 2nd under 20 in 47:41 and Duncan Evans finished in 1:00:06.

Stourbridge Running Club had a good turnout at this week's Worcestershire midweek series at Redditch. Runners completed the off-road 12 km course in warm conditions but still managed some good times. Pete Walters was first back for Stourbridge in 49:43, beating Tom Isherwood by a second in a sprint finish. Alistair McIntosh was next in 56:22, followed by Dave Sheppard in 57:28, Mark Lawton in 58:39, Kevin Burke in 59:56, Joan Clarke in 1:02:31, John Coyne in 1:05:29, Phil Elwell in 1:06:29, Paul Bradley in 1:07:14 and Richard Dawson in 1:07:29.

The Shrewsbury half marathon took place in even warmer conditions, but Richard Lowther managed to complete the 13 mile course in 1:29:11.

Stourbridge RC were out in force again at the popular Blakedown Bolt. Runners took on the tough 10k, multi terrain course for the 11th year running. Previous winner Tom Isherwood started strongly but was unable to keep the pace of ex-Stourbridge runner, Nick Hardy and finished third in 38:09. Edd Davies finished in 42:17, followed by Rob Taylor in 42:27. Louise Collins was 3rd Lady in 45:40 closely followed by Chloe Pearson in 45:57. James Bellamy in 47:28, Keith Spokes 48:26, Alastair Mcintosh 48:33, Rob Moore in 49:10, Mark Lawton in 49:14, Rob Woodward in 49:15, Dave Sheppard in 50:37, Steve Moss in 53:06, John Coyne in 54:47, Paul Bradley in 54:48, Helen Evans in 56:38, Kay Crooke in 1:00:14, Duncan Evans in 1:08, Sue Dukes and Jackie Bevan finished together in 1:14:12.
 
As if one race wasn't enough, 24 hours prior to this Helen Evans also took part in the Baggeridge 5k and finished in 28:59.
Stourbridge Running Club had a variety of outings at the weekend. At the Cobra Classic, runners took on a tough multi-terrain course which included the monument at Wychbury Hill, Trevor Osborne was first back for Stourbridge in 39.59. Louise Collins was second lady in 43.37, followed by Guy Carpenter in 45.08, Chris Ashcroft in 46.05, Jon Taylor in 55.32 and Stephen Bloomer in 58.34.

At the Severn Valley Trail Run, previous winner Tom Isherwood came fourth in 42.19 and Alastair Mcintosh finished in 52.10.
At the Avenger triathlon, Tim Lloyd-Langston finished the standard distance in 3.14.48 while James Bellamy finished the middle distance event in 5.45.52 and Tim Bailey in 5.56.54.
