Stourbridge Running Club hosted the first Bridge' to 'bridge via 'port race on Saturday, a 34 mile race from Bridgnorth to Stourbridge along the river Severn and Staffs and Worcs Canal. Runners could enter solo or as a team of four.

Ex-Stourbridge Runner Matt Giles was first home in 4h 36m 20s, followed by Ned Lammas of Evesham Vale in 4:48:49 and Simon Robinson in 4:51:40. First lady was Val Swingler of Shropshire Shufflers in 4:51:58.

Stourbridge Runners on the course were James Bellamy in 6:01:22 and Dave Sheppard in 7:24:57. Rob Moore pulled out at 24 miles in 4:18:00.
In the relay, Stourbridge Ladies took the first female team prize, Helen Evans, Jean Brayshaw, Helen Bellamy and Lynda Dunn finishing in 5:12:56. More importantly than taking the Ladies prize, they also beat the Stourbridge Men's team, Tim Lloydlangston, Mark Farnan, Paul Bradley and Andy Bernasconi finishing in 5:18:57.
Elsewhere, Martin Clarke ran the Bristol half Marathon in 2:29:00 and Kieran Burke completed the Worcester City half marathon in 1:40:57.
