Stourbridge Running Club currently compete in regional cross country leagues for both men and women.

The men’s team compete in the Birmingham & Districts Cross Country League, division 3, whilst the women compete in the Midland Women’s Cross Country League, division 2.. We also attend various Midlands County and National events over the course of the season. Races are almost always held on Saturday afternoons and ALL club members who are EA (England Athletics) affiliated are invited to take part regardless of ability or experience.

Cross country spikes are generally the footwear of choice but if you don’t have any you can still take part. Depending on how muddy the course is you can manage with trail shoes and even road shoes if you don’t mind slipping around a bit. If you take a liking to it you can pick up some spikes fairly cheaply.
Cross country is great fun and is the closest us runners come to participating in a team sport with the associated camaraderie so join in, you won’t regret it!

For these races the club enters a team and then it is up to individuals to turn up on the day. We require six men and three ladies to constitute a full team but we like as many people as possible to attend. ALL club members who are England Athletics affiliated are welcome.
