Press Report – 25th November 2019

Stourbridge Running Club have several members attended an event previously known as The Suicide Six has been renamed The Tuff-Un. Well done to the club members who took part.
Rob Woodward completed the muddy course in a time of 48 minutes and 35 seconds, followed by Jamie Grainger a couple of minutes behind in 50.14.
Steven Barrett finished in 58.08 and Paul Bradley came over the line in a time of 1 hour and 3 minutes.

Press Report – 21st October

Stourbridge RC had some great results from the weekend, starting with a turnout at the Midlands Athletics Cross Country Relay Championships.
The men’s team had an overall time of 1 hr 41. 31, with legs run by Adam Crumpton, Rob Taylor, Rob Woodward and a very speedy Pete Walters.
The women’s team came in at 1 hr 24. 56. Grace Allen started the team off with a time of 23.59 (9th fastest female time of the event), she was proceeded by Ann Kite and Dawn Nagle to come 17th out of 38 teams.

Press report – 7th October 2019

The local Sheepwalks Shocker proved to be a popular Sunday morning race for some of SRC. First home was Richard Harris, 46.48, followed by Rob Taylor, 47.17. Jamie Grainger, 48.17 and Jimmy Phillips were close behind in 48.29, as was Dale Faulkner, 49.27. Stephen Bloomer completed the course in 1 hour 04.42.
John Fitzgerald Coyne travelled to Shrewsbury to complete the half marathon with a time of 1.51.39 and Keith Spokes headed to Cardiff to complete the half in a PB time of 1.39.08. Kirsty Harvey also headed to Cardiff completing her first half marathon distance in 3hrs 14 minutes.

Press Report – 30th September

Stourbridge Running Club hosted the third Bridge’ to ‘bridge via ‘port race on Saturday, which proved another great success. Runners took on a 34 mile scenic but tough course along the River Severn from Bridgnorth to Stourport and then along the Staffs & Worcs Canal to finish at the end of the canal arm in Stourbridge. A new finish area meant that runners were able to finish in the car park of the newly opened Old Wharf Inn, providing a very sociable finish area for runners and spectators.

Press Report – 9th September

Last weekend saw Stourbridge RC had three club members head up north for the Great North Run. Finishing the 13.1 miles in a great time of 1:40:35 was Neil Gibbons. Stephen Bloomer came in at 2:17:52 and Donna Ainslie finished in 2 hours and 44 minutes.

Press report – 27th August

Great results though for these two ladies. Grace Allen smashed another PB at the Summerfield Smash 5k with a time of 19mins 14s.
Ann Kite travelled to Fairbourne for a 2.8 mile Race the Train. Ann came in the Top 5 females with a time of 22mins and 44 seconds.

Press Report – 19th August 2019

The final Worcestershire midweek series 2019 which incorporates the Worcestershire County Championships for two of the races came to the end for this year last Wednesday 14th August 2019.

Pete Walters came back 1st for the club in the winning time 38.09 and 30th overall followed by Chris Ashcroft in 39:46 and Richard Harris 40:06. There was also other club members who took part and great performances by Adam Crompton 42.57, Dave Sheppard 46.13, Adrian Phillips 46.23, John Coyne 48.29 & Sebastien Nicolas 49.18 and Philip Elwell 55.52 who came 1st in the over 70 age category.

Press Report – 8th July 2019

 

This weekend has seen athletes venturing to places near and far to compete. A popular local event on Saturday was the Black Country to Birmingham Half Marathon which saw 11 club members running the canal towpath for 13.1 miles.
First back for Stourbridge was Dan Williams with a cracking time of 1:28:11, followed by Chris Ashcroft 1:34:44 and Neil Gibbons 1:39:19. Rob Colman, Rachel Batchelor, Steven Burch, John Coyne and Helen Evans came in under the 2 hour mark. Also completing the course was Lynda Dunn, Beth Lucas and Stuart Floyd. Well done to all the runners.
