Press Report – 13th May 2019

A quiet weekend for Stourbridge Running Club, with a number of members taking part in the Birmingham Velo.

The Lichfield Half Marathon secured another PB for Neal Woolhouse in a time of 1:40:30 and a position almost in the top 100. Pete Walters ran a great time of 40 minutes and 44 seconds for the Market Drayton 10k race and Rachael Teabag travelled to Leeds and completed the half marathon in 2:23:29.
This week sees a number of members looking forward to the start of the Mid-week series, running at Hagley on Wed 15th May.

Press Report – 6th May 2019

At the LCP DK10k Stourbridge Running Club were out in force. The popular Wednesday night race attracts 100s of runners along the country lanes around Wall Heath.
First home for Stourbridge was Chris Ashcroft 39:50, with Rob Colman finishing in 39.57. Press Report – 29th April 2019

Stourbridge Running Club had runners out at the Virgin London Marathon and the Shakespeare half marathon.

In London Daniel Williams finished in 3.07.30, Andy Boardman finished in 3.26.05, Mark Lawton in 4.33.20 & Ella Hughes in 5.55.22.

In Stratford-upon-Avon, Rob Woodward finished 1.35.05, Neal Woolhouse achieved a PB in 1.40.50, followed by Mark Farnan in 1.56.23, and Errol Cumberbatch in 2.00.05.

At the Hagley Resolution Run, John Coyne finished the 10k course in 56.27.

Press Report – 15th April 2019

Stourbridge Running Club had runners at just one race this weekend. At the Droitwich half marathon Daniel Williams was first home for the club in 1:28:38. Next home was Rob Woodward in 1:35:56, followed by Andy Boardman in 1:38:18.

Press Report – 25th March 2019

Stourbridge Running Club included this week’s Dudley Parkrun as part of their anniversary league. Taking on the multi-terrain 5km course Adam Harris was first home in 24:18, followed by John Coyne in 25:44, Paul Bradley in 26:55, Phil Elwell in 28:55, Stuart Hannan in 28:52, Rachel Bawden-Green in 31:53, Lauren Braybrook in 32:44, Norman Smith in 36:14 & Ruby Ooi in 39:44.

At the Weston Super half-marathon Rob Colman finished in 1:31:46 and Rachel Batchelor in 1:43:55.

Andrea Evans ran the Forest of Dean trail half marathon in 2:05:13.

And at the Midlands Road Relays, the Ladies finished in 26th place out of […]

Press Report – 18th March 2019

Stourbridge Running Club had runners out again this weekend, with some continuing their preparations for the upcoming spring marathons. Nicola Jones ran the Shrewsbury 10k in 1.16, while at the Stafford half marathon Daniel Williams finished 1.28.14 and Rob Woodward finished in 1.33.55.

Bridge to Bridge via Port 2019

An ultra & relay race – run solo or as a team of 4. 34 miles along the River Severn and/or Severn Valley Railway from Bridgnorth to Stourport and the Staffs & Worcs Canal to Stourbridge.

The relay is for 4 people with legs of 8, 6, 10 & 10 miles

Race Information

Race Day: Saturday 28th September 2019

Start Time: 10:00

Start: Field off Kings Loade, Bridgnorth, WV16 4DA

Finish area is at the Bonded Warehouse, Canal Street, Stourbridge, DY8 4LU.

Stourbridge STAGGER Marshals – Thank you!

Dear Marshal

Thank you so much for your support yesterday at the Stourbridge Stagger. I was overwhelmed from the very beginning when so many of you turned up early to help set up the course and registration area.   The atmosphere in and around the Hub and out on the course was positive and uplifting. The feedback given by the runners, both at the end of the race and on Facebook is how motivating and friendly the marshals were and the photos already posted reinforce this. You all played an important role in the success of the race and I cannot thank you […]

Stourbridge STAGGER A BIG Success & Thank you

Dear Members,

I would like to say, on behalf of the whole club, a very big THANK YOU to the race sub committee for organising and executing a very successful 2019 Stagger. We had nearly 500 people enter the main event and 85 in the 7k run. That’s nearly 600 entries, more than we have previously had before.
I was particularly struck by the way everyone supported Helen and her team and turned up to prepare the park for the race. There was even a large contingency there at 7.30am….and it wasn’t just the offer of bacon sarnies […]
