Press Report – 22nd October 2018

At the Stroud half marathon Stourbridge Running Club put in a team effort to secure some good times and PBs. Rob Colman was first back for the club in 1.32.41, followed by James Bellamy 1.34.47, Rob Woodward 1.35.11, Steve Burch 1.37.07, Keith Spokes 1.42.50, Rachel Batchelor 1.45.40, Dave Sheppard 1.46.14, Adrian Phillips 1.45.59, Helen Evans 1.54.31, Terry Cranston 1.54.39 and Lynda Dunn 2.04.13

This followed the exploits a day earlier for some runners at the Cross Country relays at Aldersley Stadium. Rob Woodward finished the 6km course in 25.00. James Bellamy 26.20, Tim Lloydlangston 28.37, Errol Cumberbatch 32.56 and Bob Hopkins 28.57

Press Report – 24th September 2018

Stourbridge Running Club hosted their annual ultra race, Bridge’ to ‘bridge via ‘port on Saturday. A 34 mile race that can be run solo or as a team of up to 4 runners along the river Severn from Bridgnorth to Stourport and along the Staffs & Worcs Canal to the Bonded Warehouse in Stourbridge.

Winner in the solo race was Richard Taylor, finishing in a course record of 4.16.33, followed by Trevor Symonds in 4.22.03 and James Wright in 4.24.04.

First lady was Rebecca Davey in 5.07.38

Bridge’ to bridge’ via ‘Port 2018

Thank you to everybody involved in Saturday’s race. I have attached the results but be aware these may not be totally accurate. Due to rain, ink & paper not being a good mix (or maybe they are a good mix!!) some times are missing and some may be wrong due to being smudged. I’m fairly confident the final times are accurate. If you recorded your time and would like it amended please let me know.

Press Report – 3rd September 2018

Stourbridge Running Club had three runners out at the Wombourne Sprrint Triathlon, with athletes taking on a 400m swim, 20k bike and 5k run. Men’s team captain James Bellamy was first back for Stourbridge, taking 9.18 for the swim, 38.41 for the bike and 20.50 for the run, giving a total time of 1.09.55.

Jean Brayshay took 10.35, 47.34, 25.40 for a total of 1.26.57 and Mia Osborne took 10.22, 52.07, 27.59 for a total of 1.34.12.

We Want to form a Race Sub Committee

We on the committee cannot stress enough, the importance THE STAGGER plays, in the financial health of the club. (THE STUMBLE usually makes a small loss.) THE STAGGER accounts for over 63% of the club’s income and 100% of any financial surplus the club has. This surplus contributes to club events including, our race teams, many social events like camping and coach trips, club B.B.Q.’s, Christmas events and our charitable giving.
