Re-opening of Stourbridge Running Club 4th December 2020

Dear All

Further to our email earlier this week, we are pleased to report that the committee agreed that the club should re-open for organised runs.   Please note the Clubhouse will remain closed.

As the infection rate within the Dudley Borough remains high, the club will implement further safety precautions to ensure the safety of our members and maintain social distancing.  In order to do this, it is proposed that for the foreseeable future running groups meet at different locations on Wednesday evenings.  As there are fewer members running on Mondays, we should be ok to continue to meet […]

Running Club CLOSED during National Lockdown 5th November

Hello Everyone

As you’ll be aware we are now in a National Lockdown and as such there is no option but to suspend all club runs from November 5th until further notice.

England Athletics have written to the Government asking for an exemption to allow group running to continue but there has been no reply as yet and in all honesty I cant see one being granted, but should this change we’ll let you know.

On the plus side you are still allowed to exercise with one other person outside so you could arrange your own runs, this of course is outside of […]

Postponed: Stourbridge Stagger – February 2021

It is with regret that Stourbridge Running Club  have decided to postpone the next Stagger race, which was scheduled for February 2021.  This decision has not been taken lightly, but in the current climate we do not feel it is appropriate to plan for a race which is unlikely to go ahead. We understand this decision will be a disappointment  for regular Stagger runners but in these uncertain times we do not feel there is an alternative option.

Thank you to everyone who supports the Stagger which will be back stronger in 2022.

Stay Safe

Club AGM on Wednesday 23rd September 2020

Dear member,

We are holding the club AGM this year on 23rd September 2020 at 8.45pm after the Wednesday night run! Please see below the links a financial report for 2019, a nominations form and an Agenda for the meeting. At this point I must apologise for not presenting the minutes from the last meeting. I have made contact the last club secretary for her notes but they haven’t come through yet. (Needless to say the only important motion, I can recall being past, was to pay me £1000.00 per annum for being such a nice bloke)

Covid-19 – SRC Update

Dear Member,
The club still remains closed for the foreseeable future but the good news is that we can now run with other members if we so wish.
It was announced that we are able to meet with up to five members not in our immediate family household, as long as we follow social distancing rules. That includes meeting in outdoor spaces and staying more than two meters apart at all times. I believe, therefore, that club members who want to run in small groups of up to six runners in total […]
