Dear All
Further to our email earlier this week, we are pleased to report that the committee agreed that the club should re-open for organised runs. Please note the Clubhouse will remain closed.
As the infection rate within the Dudley Borough remains high, the club will implement further safety precautions to ensure the safety of our members and maintain social distancing. In order to do this, it is proposed that for the foreseeable future running groups meet at different locations on Wednesday evenings. As there are fewer members running on Mondays, we should be ok to continue to meet at the Cricket Club but this will be closely monitored and may change in future.
It is imperative that anyone wishing to run within a group accept the SPOND invitation by no later than midday on the day of the run (i.e. Monday and Wednesday) for track and trace purposes and so run leaders/group co-ordinators can ensure there are a maximum of 6 runners per group.
Members should ensure they arrive at the meeting location proposed by 6.50pm to run for 7pm.
With effect from Monday 7th December, the meeting locations for WEDNESDAYs only per running group are as follows:
7min/8min pace groups – Canal bridge on High Street, near the Ruby Restaurant.
9min pace group – Front car park, Cricket Club
10min pace group – Magnet car park
10.5min pace group (Andy) – MSP car park, Stanley Road (note the car park closes at 7pm)
11min pace group – Rear car park, Cricket Club
12min pace group – MSP car park, Stanley Road (car park closed from 7pm)
As detailed above, the meeting location for all groups on MONDAYS will remain as the front car park, Cricket Club.
When you have finished your run, please do not congregate with other members to chat, stretch and cool down.
In implementing these extra precautions it is hoped that we will keep all our members safe whilst enabling us all to run with others again.
The Sunday morning unofficial runs will re-commence at 8.30am on Sunday 6th December from the main gates (Heath Lane entrance) at Mary Stevens Park. Groups will be a maximum of 6, and we aim to run approximately 8-10 miles.
Stay safe and keep running.
Best wishes.
