Thank you very much for volunteering to marshal for the Stourbridge STAGGER on Sunday 2nd February. The Running Club would not be able to put on any races without the support of club members to marshal and the Race Committee cannot thank you enough for giving your time up to do this.

The race has over 550 participants registered again this year, so it is vitally important that we fully marshal the course.
If you have to drop out of marshalling please please let me know as soon as possible so I can try to replace you, My mobile No is 07922 907131. Please put this into your phone in case you need to contact me.
We will need help on Sunday morning from 7.30am to set up the park and surrounding areas, the more help we have will make it easier for everyone. If you are able to assist, please let me know asap (via email or text). There will be a bacon sandwich (or veggie option) for anyone who can help with setting up. J
Registration and car parking: Marshals assigned to registration and car parking can you please ensure you arrive at the park by 0800hrs.
All other marshals should be at the Hub Building in Mary Stevens Park no later than 0930hrs. (The Hub is the building near the Playground). Best place to park if you arrive early is the car park on Stanley road.
Please do not go direct to your marshal point. All marshals need to report to Stuart Hannon and Steve Burch in the hub Building to collect you marshal equipment and Instructions. Do not take your Equipment without registering with Stuart and Steve first. Please leave a Mobile Tel number where we can reach you while marshalling.
Whilst out marshallling the course, please cheer on the runners and give them encouragement. This was really appreciated by all the runners last year. It’s a tough route to run and having some encouragement along the way really does help.
Please do not leave your marshall position till you have been released by the back marker marshall, who this year is Andrea Evans. Then clean up your immediate area of any race tape, signs etc. and return to the park to help dismantle the course.
All marshallls will receive a race memento as a thank you for helping out. This can be collected at the finish line.
Hot drinks will be available to all marshalls before and after the race. Please bring warm clothing and hat/gloves as it likely to be very cold and quite possibly wet on the day.

Finally, after the race and clean up we will be going for a well-deserved drink (or two) at the Plough and Harrow near the main park entrance. All marshallls are invited to the ‘after party’ drinks J
