Bridge to Bridge via Port is a 34 mile ultra race hosted by Stourbridge Running Club. This will be the third year of running and will take place on Saturday 28th September. The race can be done as a solo run, or as part of a team of four.
Please see our Bridge to Bridge poster for more details click here
It is a brilliant race, especially when the weather is kind. The scenery is stunning, the majority of the route is flat, and entering as a team is a great way of bonding with other members. The cost for a team of four is £60, so it only costs £15 each and for that you get a medal and t-shirt at the end, as well as the joy of running the route. At the end of the race there will be good and drink to celebrate and we usually go for a curry on the evening too.
Entries are now open and I am looking to put together some teams – all male, all female, or mixed. If you want to participate but haven’t sorted out a team yourself, please email me and I will collate a list of names. Once I have an idea of how many people want to run we can look at putting together teams based on preference for distance and abilities.
If you are interested in taking part, please email me and give me an indication of your running ability (speed) and preferred distance to run. The options are 6 or 8 miles along the river (multi terrain) or 10 miles mainly along the canal.
On the same subject – if you are not interested in taking part in the race, but are able to assist with marshalling on the day, please email me.
If you require any further information before making a decision, please contact me via email or speak to me directly at the club.
