I would like to say, on behalf of the whole club, a very big THANK YOU to the race sub committee for organising and executing a very successful 2019 Stagger. We had nearly 500 people enter the main event and 85 in the 7k run. That’s nearly 600 entries, more than we have previously had before.
I was particularly struck by the way everyone supported Helen and her team and turned up to prepare the park for the race. There was even a large contingency there at 7.30am….and it wasn’t just the offer of bacon sarnies either!
That support carried on throughout the day and was indicative of the many positive comments posted on social media after the run. People were particularly taken with the standard of marshalling and the friendly atmosphere that pervaded the whole event.
The Stagger is mainly a club runners “run” and many local clubs know that we have undergone some key changes in terms of race organisation and race directorship. Any questions about the future of the Stagger, as a key annual fixture, was well and truly answered.
Moreover, the improvements the R.S.C is making doesn’t stop there:-
1.For the first time we will have a clear picture as to what the financial benefits are to the club.
2.We will document our procedure so we can create a “Race Book” blueprint as to how we implement races in the future.
3.We will look for ways to make thing easier for those marshalling the event.
As I have said many times, the races we put on, benefits the club enormously and this years effort is no different. I would like to thank everyone who directly or indirectly helped make this event the amazing success it has been. Your support is vital and so very much appreciated.
